# Your first coin, start to finish

> From choosing the piece to holding its certificate — and what actually happens in the seconds in between.

## 1. Choose your coin

Browse the market and open any coin that catches your eye. The page shows everything a careful buyer wants: mintage, metal, year, the full ownership history and how the price has moved. The floor price is the cheapest piece of that design currently for sale — a useful anchor. Take your time here; a coin listed today is almost always still there tomorrow. Once you are signed in, you can also watch a series and let it prove itself for a week first.

## 2. Decide: vault or ship

At checkout you choose where the physical coin goes. Vault means it stays exactly where it is — insured, audited, and ready to resell the moment you choose. Ship means we send it to your door, fully insured, and it leaves the market until it is re-vaulted. Most collectors vault most pieces; the next guide weighs the choice honestly. If you are unsure, choose the vault — it keeps every option open and costs nothing extra today.

## 3. The one signature that pays

Press “Pay”. The money comes from the USDC in your wallet, so make sure it holds enough — and if it does not, you can top up by card or Apple Pay right here without leaving the page. A small sheet shows exactly what you will pay — the coin's price, shipping if you chose it, and nothing hidden. You approve it with a single signature, the same fingerprint or face that unlocks your phone. You are not sending a transaction and you pay no gas: you are signing an authorisation that lets Bifrost move exactly that amount of your USDC and no more, and Bifrost covers the network fee. If the total is not what you expected, close the sheet and nothing happens — money moves only when you sign.

## 4. The seconds after: Bifrost settles the trade for you

Here is the quiet part that matters. The moment you sign, Bifrost relays your authorisation and settles the whole trade on your behalf as the settlement agent: your USDC moves to Bifrost, which then pays the seller their proceeds, pays the creator their royalty, keeps the 2.5% vault fee, and transfers the coin's certificate to your wallet — each leg recorded openly on Base. It is a handful of steps run for you in seconds, not one indivisible transaction, but it is designed so you never pay without receiving: if settlement could not complete, the trade does not stand. Within a few seconds your Collection shows the coin as yours, and the record shows exactly how the money divided.

## 5. Where your certificate lives

Open Collection in the top navigation and your coin is there, certificate attached. The certificate is transferred to your own wallet — the one created when you signed in, or the one you connected — so it is held in your name, not by Bifrost. Reselling stays effortless because you approve each sale with a single gasless signature and Bifrost covers the network fee, the same way you paid. If your wallet is the embedded one, you can export it from your account settings and hold the keys directly whenever you wish. On the coin's page you will find its on-chain block: contract address, token id and transaction record, all public, so anyone you ever sell to can check the coin's history without trusting you, or us.

## 6. Show it off, or let it work

That is it — you own a vaulted, insured collector coin with provenance nobody can quietly rewrite. From here you can watch its market, list it for sale at any moment, or ship it home for the shelf. Every collector also gets a public profile at /u/your-username — your held coins, an estimated worth and recent activity, in one shareable place (there is a privacy switch on your account page if you would rather keep it to yourself). Share the coin page with anyone; the certificate reads the same to a stranger in twenty years as it does to you today. Your first purchase is the hardest one you will ever make here. The second takes about a minute.
