A vaulted coin can be handed to another collector in one quiet step — sealed, engraved if you like, and permanent from the moment you send it.

01What a gift is here#
Any vaulted coin you own can be given to another collector by their @username. No price, no payment, no reservation window — the certificate transfers to their wallet and the coin stays exactly where it is, on its shelf in the vault, now insured in their name. For the recipient it arrives as a sealed gift: they see who it is from, and open it when they are ready. Only then do they see which coin you chose.
02The engraving#
You can add a short message — up to 280 characters, plain words. Think of it as the engraving on the back of a watch: it is shown to the recipient when they open the gift, and it is written into the coin's provenance permanently, alongside the hand-over itself. Anyone reading the coin's history in thirty years will find your words there. Write accordingly, or write nothing — a gift may travel in silence.
03Permanent means permanent#
Sending a gift moves real ownership: the record updates the moment you confirm, and the certificate follows to the recipient's wallet. There is no cancel and no recall — exactly as if you had pressed the coin into their hand. That is why the send step asks you to confirm, plainly, before anything moves. Check the @username with care; the confirm screen shows you precisely who is about to receive it.
04What the recipient needs#
Just an account. If they have signed in to Bifrost even once, they can receive a gift — their wallet was created with their account, and that is where the certificate goes. If the @username you enter cannot receive yet, the send step tells you before anything moves. The coin arrives vaulted, insured and tradeable: they can keep it, list it, or ship it home, the same as any piece they had bought.
05What it costs, and what the record shows#
Nothing. No fee, no royalty — royalties belong to sales, and this is not one. The coin's provenance gains one honest line: gifted, from you, to them, with your engraving if you wrote one. Its sale history and price chart are untouched, because no price changed hands. A gift here is what it has always been between collectors — generosity with a paper trail.
